Molafos ‘Grower’® Liquid Supplement

THE PRODUCT

Molafos Grower

  • is a palatable combination supplement that is high in Molasses (Energy) with true protein, grain and a low urea level combined with a sound mineral / vitamin balance and the ionophore Bovatec.
  • is a molasses based 18% total protein, energy, vitamin, mineral supplement with Bovatec, suitable for Cattle and Sheep grazing mature pasture, stubble or crop.
  • is used as a supplement for backgrounding cattle to get stock onto feed sooner and as a post- weaning supplement with hay and or grain.
  • has a unique formulation that is well suited to maintaining growth and development in stud stock prior to entering a feeding program for sale or showing

PASTURE QUALITY

Due to seasonal and soil conditions, pasture quality is quite variable as shown in Figure 1. This variability affects the consistency of animal performance achievable, and during May – October can result in a negative production or weight loss situation (“in the red”).

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Pour into open troughs and allow cattle and sheep free access.  Feed out 3 days supply and do not refill until the 4th day. Once intake has stabilised feed out 7 days supply and do not refill until the 8th day.

Stock may need to be supplemented with salt (especially sheep) for 1 week to appease any salt craving.  Do not feed to starving or thirsty stock.  Locate feeding stations away from water to reduce intakes and encourage grazing out.

FEEDING TIPS

Once green feed is available intakes will initially fall as pasture protein is high and pasture has adequate energy levels – (see Table 1). Once feed starts to mature and seed heads begin to appear intakes will again rise to recommended levels. The exception is in the feeding of forage sorghum where mineral imbalances necessitate the feeding of a supplement to maximise performance. In this case Molafos Grower for young stock and Molafos15S for mature stock are the recommended products.

OTHER PRODUCTS

  • For cattle coming up to calving with green feed available it is advisable to change over to Molafos Transition for the last 2 weeks of pregnancy. This has benefits in improving calcium metabolism, and reducing the incidence of many of the metabolic diseases that occur at or near calving.
  • For sheep the same product is used for the above reasons and because of the benefits in lamb survival and subsequent growth associated with Vitamin E supplementation of the ewe for 30 days pre lambing.
  • For green pasture the recommendation is to switch to Molafos M a mineral rich molasses based green feed / production feeding supplement.
  • For grain assisting in the paddock or full feeding in a feedlot the Molafos feedlot products for cattle and for sheep become the products of choice.
